Thanks to great year-round weather you can bring aquatic action to life whenever the mood strikes. In Lake Worth, access to the water couldn't be easier. From the Intracoastal Waterway and the Palm Beaches to the many canals and lakes, the area's ample waterfronts offer a great way to relax or get recreational. On the Lake Worth Municipal Beach you have 1,000 pristine feet of developed beach at your feet. The newly-opened Lake Worth Pier lures fishing enthusiasts as it is one of the longest piers on Florida's Atlantic coast. If you're looking to learn or improve your skills in the water, you'll find instruction for a host of water sports including water skiing, wind surfing and parasailing. You'll also find some of the best snorkeling and award-winning scuba diving opportunities here.

Several parks give children the use of playgrounds, baseball, and soccer and football fields while others provide tennis, biking and hiking trails. Two parks with water access, Bryant Park on the oceanfront and John Prince Park on Lake Osborne, offer the option of boating and fishing along with traditional park amenities.

Lake Worth Beach is comprised of 1,300 feet of guarded beach.

Amenities include s howers, and picnic facilities. There are 6 retail stores in the Casino building and 2 sit-down restaurants. There is a full service restaurant and bar on the pier.

Metered parking is available and rate is $1.00 per hour. City residents may purchase a parking decal from the City Cashier, located at City Hall, 7 N. Dixie Highway.

Besides more than 1,200 feet of sandy beach, the ballroom on the 900-foot pier houses stores offering ice cream, jewelry, places to eat and more. (January 25, 2006)

Facilities: Picnic tables, restrooms, showers, playground, an Olympic pool and a baby pool, as well as volleyball areas (there's a summer tournament), two sit-down restaurants, an outside bar on the pier, food concessions and vendors who'll rent you cabanas, beach chairs and boogie boards. There is also a pier with a bait and tackle shop where you can rent rods and reels.

Lifeguards: On duty 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Rules: No dogs, kites, alcohol, Frisbees, glass containers.

Fees: More than 800 metered parking spots. Must pay to fish or sightsee off the pier.
